Jeremy's Vacation

Today is the last day of Jeremy's 12 1/2 day vacation from school...sigh...it has been so very much fun to have him around all day everyday!!! It will be very weird for him to be gone all day tomorrow. It's cool how fast I get used to having him around when he gets these nice breaks in between semesters and things. I think it will be hard for him to get used to studying once more. But it just means we'll be that much closer to being done with school! This past Friday and Saturday was graduation at the University for a lot of programs and as we drove by the stadium there were lots of people wearing caps and gowns. I got this surge of excitement for that day to come for us. But it will be weird too. You are a student (or your husband is) for so long it just feels like that's the way it will always be. Then we'll have to start helping our kids with their homework. Guess I should take some refresher courses at that point :)

So, we went to a lot of parks because there were many nice sunny days. We had a bbq with friends, went bowling, went for lots of walks, Hyrum saw his very first movie 'Happy Feet' in the theater and he also tried Chinese food for the first time. We took Hyrum to Xtreme Bounce Zone where they have a bunch of blow up toys that kids can bounce around in. He was a little young for most of it but there was one big slide he really loved and he loved all the extra space to run around in. Hyrum has also added the word 'cracker' to his vocabulary. We think it sounds very cute when he says it. Jeremy and I enjoyed lots of different kinds of super yummy ice cream. We spent what felt like probably 50% of our waking time looking for a house/duplex to rent. We are really hoping to get into something this summer sometime. With how expensive rent is out here, it's really not that much more to rent a house than an apartment! So we'll keep ya'll posted. Oh yes and we bought a printer-yippeee!

So vacation is over but spring semester is only 6 weeks and Jeremy will be off for two whole months. He did great this past winter semester. It seemed to be twice as hard than his first semester. He was a lot busier and had to study more and finals were crazy but he did great. He really amazes me! I would be so stressed out I would be impossible to live with. But he always remains so calm and laid back and just gets everything done and still has time for Hyrum & I. He's great =]

It sounds like you guys had a wonderful break together! You did a lot of thing--you seized the moment!! Good for you! Hyrum seems to be experiencing a lot of new things and learning new things. That is awesome that Jeremy can balance his time so well, and have time for his family and still do fabulous in school! That is a very good skill to have!! Good luck in finding a house/duplex to rent! :) This was fun to read!! :)

Are you sure he's saying "cracker"? He could be saying "black bear", as in "There's a black bear hiding in the pantry." Watch yourselves, Shakespears.

I love your blog, but these pictures make me miss you way too much. I wish Eli could play with Hyrum in the mud! Good work!

Move to Dallas, there aren't any black bears here.

Looks like you guys had such a blast during the break! That's so great that you were able to do a bunch of stuff and just be together as a family. I bet you can't wait for his summer break though when he gets two months off! Woohoo!
