fun weekend

We had a fun, full weekend. Friday Hyrum and I spent the whole morning in the kitchen. First we made home made applesauce and then we used some of the applesauce to make an applesauce cake. They both turned out delicious and were gobbled up quickly. That night Jeremy and I were able to go on a date. We went on a bike ride through a beautiful park, used two coupons for free sandwiches at Potbellies (so good!) and saw part of a free concert downtown.

Saturday we went to the temple in the morning and then spent the rest of the afternoon at Jeremy's friend Tony's house. He was having a pool party for some of the dental students and their families. It was so much fun! Tony's family is so nice, they fed us all delicious food, let us go swimming, fishing, and go canoeing in their pond. One of these times I'll take a picture of the whole dental crowd-I always forget to do that.

I am lovin' the summertime and being able to spend time outside together!

handsome boys
I just have to say how cute my boys are! They are so much fun to be with all day and I feel so lucky to be their Mommy. They are becoming better friends and I'm excited for when Hunter can move around more.

A little Hunterbug update...he is a whopping 18 pounds and he has been rolling over from back to belly for a while and has learned to roll from belly to back in the last week or so. I have helped him sit up and he's still a bit floppy but he seems to really like it. I think he is very excited to move. He loves to squeal and laugh and make lots of happy noise. I think he is really ready to start eating solids (his Mom just isn't yet) since he grabs at all the food (so I guess I'll have to give in soon)

Hyrum keeps improving his language skills, it seems like everyday he gets better. He is quite the vocal kid. Some of his favorite things right now are playing pillows (jumping from the couch onto pillows on the floor), watching 'Finding Nemo', building cities with Daddybear with his lego blocks, telling 'jokes', eating fish crackers, going to parks, nursery and having picnics.

geoff & ellen
It was so fun to have our friends Geoff & Ellen stay with us. We haven't seen them for two years so it was great being able to talk, laugh and reminisce :) We just wish it had been longer! Thanks for stopping here guys and for all the great stories!
And Hyrum keeps talking about Whiskers the cat. I think he made a friend.

twiners

Everyone always says that our boys look a lot a like. I think they look like brothers but I didn't think they really looked that much a like until I took a picture of Hunter a couple of weeks ago and saw how similar it was to a picture I have in my room of Hyrum. They looked like the same baby! So, if anyone wants to guess, which picture is Hunter and which one is Hyrum??? Let's see how many of you can get it right!
swim lessons
Our friend Telia was giving free swim lessons this past week for dental student families. Hyrum spent most of his time crying in the pool but by the last day he had improved so much! He didn't even cry after she dunked him all the way under. I must say that he has never clung to me so tight in his entire life! Thanks Telia for being so patient and so great with the kids! (It was a little too cold for Hunter this time, but hopefully next time he can get in as well)

Some cute photos of Hunterbug this past week.

Walking back in style
Ever since Jeremy and I were dating one of our most favorite things to do was to take walks together. That tradition has continued with the addition of two children. Well, being here in Michigan, we can't have family walks regularly because winter lasts for 8 months out of the year. But the last week or two we have enjoyed GORGEOUS weather and have been taking advantage of it as often as we possibly can. The last 3 Sundays we have gone on 1-2 hour walks and we have been picking a couple of new parks each week to play at. Bring on the sun!

The other day I asked Hyrum what Daddy did during the day and he replied "Daddy goes to school" then I asked him what Mommy does. He paused, then smiled and said "In the chicken!!!" (translation, chicken = kitchen) Then I asked what does Hyrum do and he said "In the chicken too!" so here is proof that Hyrum does help in the kitchen. We made star and heart shaped biscuits today and they were a hit!
