(who likes our single-college-style-ghetto-bookshelving? I do, I do! Well until Craigslist can come through on some kind of non-partical board bookshelf that is CHEAP this will have to do!)
I love, love, love to read. Not that I only read substantial, thought-provoking, life-altering literature (ahem, Agatha Christie fan!) but hey I still love it. I enjoy being on Goodreads (you should all join too) because it's a place to keep track of what I want to read, what I have read & how I like it & what my friends are reading & I can get lots of good ideas. Well I was organizing my Goodreads books by date read & saw that I read 32 books in 2009-32! That's a lot. And how many did I read in 2010? A whopping 6. And four of those don't really count because one was Stuart Little with Hyrum & three of them were the Hunger Games books & it took me like 2 weeks to read them. So I wonder what happened in 2010? Hmmmm....
So despite feeling like I have no time to read, this year I made a resolution that I would read 1 book a month if it killed me. And halfway through month #4 I have just started my 8th book! Yahoo! Funny how if I just tell myself to read 20 pages a day or something I can actually get through a book. My favorites so far are 'Defiance', 'North & South', & 'Anne Frank: the biography'.
It feels so good to be reading again! Bring on the book recommendations.
Em got into Hyrum's chocolate Cadberry egg while I was giving the big boys a bath. I found pieces of it all over the carpet-stinker! :)

Great shelf!!! It's wonderful you like to read so much. I have the same reading goal...but am just on my 4th book. This month I am actually listening to a book with Lee--The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. Very good thus far. Did you read Dave Ramsey? I am curious what your thoughts were about it. I am going to have to read Ann Frank. I read it in school, but the one you read might be different. Oh and I have to read Hunger Games too! Lee also breezed through them.
oh, Em!! You come by your love of chocolate quite naturally!! Love the book shelves, don't know anybody who struggled through school (without parental help) who didn't have one of those!! Zac got his first real injury on the corner of ours.
Your kiddos are so stinkin cute! You have inspired me to "try" to read more often... I really do miss it. The hardest part is knowing what book to read in my very limited spare time so I will try that site to get recommendations. Thanks for info.
