Best Birthday Ever!

Jeremy took me to San Antonio for 24 hours just him & me, he & I, us, whatever. 24 hours!!! It was so nice to remember what it was like to just be a couple again.

My vote is for this to be a yearly (or bi-yearly) tradition. Yes!

We went to Biga on the Banks, this fancy, schmanzy (for us anyway) restaurant right on the Riverwalk. Fabulous view, delicious food & we ate every lick of it. No leftovers for us. Who knew pureed curried cauliflower soup with dates & pine nuts could be so perfect? Seriously, I'm craving it & I can't find a recipe!

We then took the boat tour around the Riverwalk-it really is an amazing place!

Jeremy surprised me with flowers & chocolate at the hotel-awwww

And here we are on our balcony enjoying our 18th floor view of downtown San Antonio
(before a bit of vertigo & acrophobia hit & I had to make a mad dash indoors-yikes!)

The next day we walked the Riverwalk & a few other places downtown & then ate Amy's ice cream for lunch on the way home.

24 hours was the perfect amount of time away from our crazies at this point in our lives.
Thanks to Nana for watching them all!

Just get out the blender, Meg, that's all that pureed soup is! What a fun day, so glad you had the time and sweet family to help.

What a great way to celebrate your birthday, Megan! I love that you found a way to get away for 24 hrs. And Jeremy, way to GO with the flowers and chocolates in the hotel room! How adorable!

Fun, fun, fun! Biga on the Banks is one of the restaurants I ate at while in San Antonio teaching my workshop this past January. Some one had recommended it to us and I didn't realize what I was getting into. It was wonderful food (I had some amazing duck and a pretty good desert) although I don't think I would have self-selected it had I known the prices!

Happy Birthday Megan! I had it marked in my calander that it was your b-day, but I forgot to send an e-mail (sorry!), but I did think of you.:) I'm glad to see you had such a fun day.

Your kids are getting so big, and are so stinkin' CUTE! Love ya!

Glad you had a good birthday, Megan! Looks like you guys had a lot of fun in San Antonio. That makes me miss Texas... Oh, I was gonna tell you that my baby brother Leland is getting married in July, and his fiance is from Texas! (I think from Plano.) Makes me think of you and Jeremy. :)

Sorry I'm so late on this!! I tried to leave a comment last Friday but Blogger was being weird.

Happy belated birthday and it was sooo fun to hear about your couples retreat! You both deserve some time away! How fun!

Hey, so we live in San Antonio, and I think we're going to copy you for our anniversary. Thanks for the links. I'm telling my husband.

That looks like such a great time. Have Jeremy give Geoff some tips. I check out your blog, but just haven't made a comment in a while. But I just have to say your family is so cute. Love the Wal-mart shopping cart post. Also, in the picture at the top it almost looks like you have two sets of twin. Your kids are so cute.
