So it was a low key New Year's around here. (Seriously how do you even celebrate it with kids? Next year we'll have to have a dance party at home.) New Year's Eve we drank tickle juice (sparkling cider) & Jeremy & I looked up the words to & sang 'Auld Lang Syne'. Hyrum rolled his eyes & said 'This is a really long song Mommy.' Haha!
For New Year's day we ate 7 layer dip with more tickle juice & because we were all sick we stayed home for a movie afternoon & Shakespear Family Olympic games. We had races, balloon volleyball tournaments & an obstacle course. The obstacle course was the best because each kid went separately & was timed rather than playing together. Playing together should be fun but people kept getting hurt & crying & whining about stuff. Hopefully it's an age thing & it'll be more fun when everyone is a bit older.
We did our individual & family goals for Family Home Evening. And we evaluated our last year's goals. Some were okay but mostly we didn't do too hot so we are going to try harder this year. We are going to evaluate them each month & if we've made progress & done well then there will be a prize at the end of the year. A weekend away in Tulsa!!! I know how exciting can you get =) Actually it is because there is a great aquarium there that we have been wanting to go to since moving here.
I was proud of Hyrum he came up with his goals himself with no prompting from us. 1. Read the Book of Mormon 2. Make his bed (what? I don't even do that) 3. No more lying - not that he lies a lot (I hope) but we have had a few problems over the last year with that. Hunter is going to 1. Learn all the sounds of the letters & start reading 2. No more fits. He came up to me today & said he forgot one more goal he wanted to do was to help Mommy make lunch & dinner. I like that one!
Dallen is going to learn to walk & talk & the twins are going to be potty trained & recognize most letters. So really that's another one for me =)
I have 5 goals this year. I won't mention them all but I am excited to jog more regularly & to use my new sewing machine! Jeremy is going to try to read more than just fantasy this year...we shall see...
2012 was hard, stretching, & challenging. With that came lots of learning & growing & there were lots of great memories & happiness too! Can't wait to see what 2013 has in store.

One year for New Year's we made party hats. We let all the kids stay up late...though most of them crash. Well, when they're babies, we just put them to bed. We always play Monopoly and they either play alone or are on our team. Always lots of yummy food, movies and watching the ball drop at midnight. Great job with the goals! Isn't it awesome to think that you'll have one kid in diapers at the end of the year?? Hopefully this spring we'll buy a house!!!! First time ever!
