June photo dump
Amy, Mina & I
Nervous to start
Crossing the finish line!
Brigg & Luke running the last bit with Havalah
In June I ran my 2nd half marathon. The first one I ran was over 10 years ago so I felt like this was my first time all over again. I'm soooo glad Mina invited me to train & run it & I'm so grateful Amy & I could run the whole thing together. We were slow but steady & ran the whole distance (except for part of the steepest hill). It's amazing to see what your body is capable of! Havalah ran it as well & it was fun to have my parents, brother & his family all there cheering us on.
Ahhh.. the long awaited burgers

Hyrum has been taking piano lessons since January & has really learned to love it. I was hoping he would but was of course willing to let him quit if he didn't. I just wanted him to try it out & he has done awesome! It was so fun to watch him in his first recital. He didn't even look nervous which is very unlike his Mother. Nancy Taylor is a talented (& patient) teacher. And he won the prize for practicing the most minutes :)

Hyrum with Ms. Glasson. This woman is amazing & such a blessing to us. She was exactly what Hyrum needed to excel in 2nd grade & to be challenged in every way. She has the most energy of anyone I've met & loves her students in a way I've never seen before. He will miss her a ton!
Hunter with Mrs. Johnson. He went into school very nervous & came out absolutely loving it. He tells me all the time his favorite part of Oregon is school & wants to start back up again. I know Mrs. Johnson made that transition so much easier for him.
Hunter & BF Brenden at the end of school BBQ I sure hope those two make it into the same 1st grade class.
Hunter's Kindergarten school picture. I would post Hyrum's but it looks like a mug shot so we won't be sharing that one....
The boys had a great time on their baseball team this year & are excited to do it next year. They both have improved a ton! On the last practice the coach brought a bunch of water guns & they had a blast playing.
We went to the annual Seaside Old Car show (or whatever it's called.) The Scouts got to race their derby cars in the middle of the street.
We went to a Scandinavian festival in Astoria & ate Swedish meatballs, did NOT eat sauerkraut, watched a puppet show, tried on wooden shoes, listened to music, saw Viking stuff, & danced around the May pole etc. Pretty cool. They even had a prayer to start off the flag ceremony. What the what? How awesome is that.
SNAKE!
Cool shades
We hung out in Portland for a couple days in June. As you know of course hotels are the best part of any trip far or close.
Jeremy & I took turns going to the Portland temple.
I walked the kids around the temple grounds & made a visit to Target while Jeremy was in the temple.
We got pizza for the kids & PF Changs for us & ate it at a local park. Emma taught Dallen to belly swing.
The next day we went to the zoo & bought a year pass so we can go anytime.
1st picture from my smart phone.
Emma had a rough day. She got hit with a swing & fell off some bleachers & got pretty scratched up!
King Hyrum pondering the mysteries of life.
The kids have been into me painting their faces. Dallen wanted to repay the favor so I call it the pink blob.
Definitely been taking more pictures with our new phones. Messing with the filters is pretty much my favorite part of my phone. That & the Netflix app - hahaha
He looks so old in this picture :(
Garden building in the dirt. Maybe someday this slacker Momma will have a real garden for them to help (play in) with.
I made coconut curry & naan on the pizza stone one night - so good....
Boom Boom salad - best salad ever!!! @ Supper Club in Astoria if you're ever in the area.
Baking helper
Some of our friends adopted a new baby girl! She was born on a Monday which was the first they had heard about her, they met her on a Tuesday & took her home on a Thursday - wow what a whirlwind!
Hunter made everyone's beds one day (I did not ask him to do that) & he left this note on Hyrum's bed - awwww
Fun date with Justy this month was going for icecream, park playing, walking & puppet show performing by Justy himself at the library.
Hunter & I rode bikes for our date & our objective was to hit as many rain puddles as possible. We were very successful & quite wet at the end. Hyrum & I baked together for his date (his idea!) & that was so fun. Emma & I had a girl sleep over & painted nails & played ponies. Love our date time.
Emma & Justy learned how to ride two wheelers with training wheels -wahooo! One step closer to being a bike family. I've gone with them a few times around the block & although we go so slow I can leisurely walk faster than they ride they're getting it!
Jeremy always did want to go to clown school. He may have chosen the wrong profession?
Dallen has to get in on all the bike fun.
This is what we would look like if we were a family of pigs. Scary thought.
Hiking around Coffenbury Lake - gorgeous
We started rotating jobs during Family Home Evening a few months ago. It's going really well. Justy gave a lesson on his favorite scripture story - Jonah & the whale. So we made a boat out of a box & he slept in it afterwards for a couple of weeks & still sleeps in it occasionally.
On your mark, get set, go!
Super hero & sack race fun
Best buds
Caught them all reading at the same time
Hyrum's recital. His bow at the end reminded me of Napoleon Dynamite for some reason :)
