KIDS

I love the holidays but I feel like from October through the birthday month of January the only things I post about on our blog are about what we're doing for all the holidays which is fun but I miss out on just the normal daily things.  I love our little family.  It's a chaotic, crazy mess most days but I wouldn't change it.

Some cute things the kids have said this week.

Hyrum & I were listening to a Justin Bieber song & he rolled his eyes & wanted to know why most songs are about love & icky things like that.  Yes he's well into that stage!  So we were talking about that & he declared "Well I'll tell you something I will never do - smooch on the lips!!!' He was very emphatic about it.  So I asked him if I could get it in writing & if he would sign it :)  I would love to show that to him in about 10-12 years.  I love that Hyrum dances the robot with me.  He really gets into it & it's great.  When I dance & sing around the house he always says I'm crazy & that I must have been a rock star back in the 80's :)

One afternoon Hunter came with me to the fabric store.  As we walked down one aisle he noticed they had fabric for all different holidays.  He started naming them 'Look!  There's Christmas, 4th of July, Easter, Valentine's, St. Patricks Day.  But they don't have Conference Mommy.' As in General Conference when we listen to our prophets & apostles speak to us from Salt Lake City UT.  I almost died right there in JoAnn's-it was the sweetest thing he could have said.  He considers Conference a holiday & it's one of his favorites he informed me.  I know it's because of all the traditions we have & fun things we try to do in between all the talks but still it made me happy.

Emma Lou looked at me one day & said 'My best friend huh!' (She says 'huh' after a lot of her sentences & it's so cute) Oh I hope she still thinks that when she's 16!!! :)  So now when I tuck her in at night I tell her 'We're best friends huh' & she always says 'Yup'.  She is completely potty trained now & I'm lovin it.  Only 2 in diapers! But when we're away from home without her little potty seat she likes for me to hold her while she sits on the pot.  So when I need to use the girls room she runs with me & holds my hands so I don't fall in.  So funny.

We were at Sam's Club & Justy was sitting in the cart.  All of a sudden he says 'Mommy I'm going to marry you!' Awwww..melt my heart.  The other day out of no where he said 'I love you Mommy' & that really is out of no where for Justin.  He just doesn't ever say stuff like that!  Every morning when he wakes up (he sleeps in a sleeping bag in our closet) he sings the theme song to 'Little Einsteins' & he sings it so loud in his monotone voice & it's hilarious.  Maybe I'll try to record it.  I love how he lisps especially his yes, 'Yeth'.  He loves books & has some of them memorized & we finally got around to recording them yesterday.  Enjoy one of them it's called "No David"

Dallen is just the sweetest kid.  Everyone revolves around Dallen & we all think he's the best source of entertainment around here.  He is walking a little bit here & there & he is always so proud of himself.  He still prefers to crawl.  He is sleeping so much better which makes his parents ecstatic.  He has become obsessed with books, looking at them, being read to, ripping & eating them.  He loves all the David Shannon books especially the ones about David and/or Fergus the dog.  If he sees one of those books & you don't read it to him he starts throwing a fit.  Those are the books that we have taped the most.

Our new thing is sword fighting.  Dallen finally got a turn with the light sabers & we think he felt pretty important. He is a padawan in the making.

So now I feel a little caught up.  I hope the kids will read stuff like this one day when they're older & laugh at how funny they were.  Jeremy & I sure enjoy chuckling over it in the evenings.

PS I wore a skirt today to church that I've had since I was 19 years old.  19!!!  I'm 33 now.  It's a 14 year old skirt & still looks pretty good.  I love clothes that last for a long time.  I hope I'm wearing it in another 14 years when I'm 47-yelp! That sounds so old...
