June 2015....Summertime!

Hunter with 1st grade teacher Mrs. Pinkstaff & Hyrum with 3rd grade teacher Mrs. Regan.  Both of these ladies were perfect for each boy & they both had a great year learning lots & having fun.

Cookies in a jar for their teachers

I received a couple of thank you's for helping out in the classrooms this year.  They were sweet &
unexpected!  I love being able to be at the school

June was the season of field trips!  I got to go with Hunter's class to the aquarium.  I'm always surprised that the kids last so long in such a small space :)

Thanks to a good friend watching my kids all day long I was also able to go with Hyrum's class to Portland to go to OMSI! (Oregon Museum of Science & Industry)

This is how we feel about it being summertime!

To celebrate the end of school we had some friends over for dinner & a fire in the fire pit.  It was so much fun - we had 18 kids & 11 adults (I think)

Puzzle time

We occasionally see some cross dressing at home

Dallen wanting to be like his big brothers

Playing around Daddy has become the thing to do when he mows the lawn

Dallen was getting prepped for Poop Camp #5!  He turned 3 in March but I didn't want to potty train him right before we moved so then we moved in April & I kept putting it off.  He started taking his diaper off all over the house because he didn't like the way it felt so we finally picked a weekend & did it!  It only took a week & he has it down.  Whew!

Throwing away his last diaper ever & opening a present for doing so well - "Penguins of Madagascar" (funny flick)

Playing Just Dance

For the summertime we decided to implement a chore chart.  When each kid does all of their chores for the day they can participate in our special "thing". We have had a special snack or treat, a movie, an outing to the park or beach or jump house, computer time, friend time etc.  So far it's worked really well & everyone seems excited to participate even if the special "thing" isn't really that awesome :)

Emma lost her first tooth in June!  What the heck?!  Hyrum & Hunter didn't lose their first teeth until they were end of Kindergarten/start of 1st grade so this was surprising.  I remind her all the time how cute her gap is :)

Smoothie teeth!!

My parents came for Father's Day weekend.  We went bowling & out for pizza, to the Candyman & Seaside beach & we went to Shipwreck beach.  It was super windy that day so we hung out in a little cave we found when we needed a break from the wind.  We fed the birds our sandy popcorn & they loved it.  It was a great weekend together as always!

So thankful for the father of my kids!!!  He is the best man I could have ever asked for to go through life with & I thank God everyday for him.

Dallen spent a week or so of June under the weather.  He fell asleep at odd times & in odd places.

Hyrum had his second piano recital & totally rocked it!  He played four pieces - The Entertainer, Liebestraum by Franz Liszt, Minuet in G by Bach & the main theme from Star Wars.  He also got the award 2nd year in a row for most minutes practiced.  Way to go Hyrum!!!

I walked into the family room one day & saw this.  Awwww.. these two can be the best of buds sometimes

The boys finished off their baseball season.  They had fun, learned a lot & improved quite a bit!  It's been fun for me to play catch with them.

During one game we discovered Dallen had stuck pebbles up his nose.  Luckily we were able to get them out - later that night he snorted out a couple more of these beauties.  That was a first for us.  Justy, Emma & Dallen always gathered flowers for me for a bracelet during each game & practice.  One day I asked Justin what was something that made him happy & he said picking flowers for me.  I asked him why that made him happy & he said 'Because it makes you happy too' Wow!  Wise words from a 5 year old :)

We went up to Lacey to stay with my parents for a weekend.  My sisters in law's sister was getting married so we wanted to go to the reception & our niece Penelope was going to be blessed on Sunday so we of course wanted to go to that.  (I think Penelope has a crush on Uncle Jeremy!) We also hit our favorite bakery Wagner's, Grandpa's Ice Cream Shop & the splash pad in Oly.  Boy was it HOT for the PNW!  It's always great to be with family.

We've had an influx of suspicious Ninja activity in the house...

Emma & I had a date to Portland this month to get her heart murmur checked out & everything was 100% OK!  We celebrated by going on a shopping spree to Target.  Love this girl!

Hyrum went to cub scout day camp this year for the first time ever.  He didn't want to go at first but he came home completely excited after the first day.  They built things out of wood, went on hikes (I joined them for half of an 8 miler they did), did archery & other fun activities.  He had a good time.

The reptile man came to the library!  He brought like 15 reptiles with him & he was interesting & funny & kept the kids engaged.  What a great time!

The kids & I had a trip to Klootchy Creek Park - it was a warm, sunny, throwing rocks in a river kind of a day

We had our first family bike ride this month too!  Although we really need to get Dallen something with pedals!

I remember playing this as a kid so it was so interesting to see my kids do the same thing.  I remember pretending our bikes made food & other things (like clothes).  Just flip a bike over & it becomes quite the machine!
