May 2015
We celebrated my birthday & Mother's day all in one weekend. It was so fun to have my parents come down for the weekend & for Brigg & Hava to join us on Saturday. Friday we went to the zoo then Jeremy & I took off for a super long date. First we ate ice cream at Salt & Straw. They have very unique yet delicious flavors! I had rhubarb crumble with toasted anise and coconut with salted caramel bars. They have flavors like pear & bleu cheese and olive oil. Then we went to the temple & out to eat at our favorite spot PF Chang's. My parents brought me an entire Olive Garden black tie cheesecake & Jeremy made me a fruit cake with just fruit :). We had a pinata on Saturday & played at the beach. We found a giant hole someone had dug for construction reasons probably & spent most of our time jumping.
Pork taco's with homemade chili verde, pico de gallo & guacamole sauce. Yummmy!
We've spent lots of time swapping with our friends Sarah & Tommy. These kids have lots of fun together.
Dallen got a letter in the mail from his BFF Jaron & it sure made his day
Look Mom I drew a "porkypine!"
Memorial Day weekend we went to Tillamook & Netarts. After the cheese factory we went on probably the longest hike we've been on as an entire family. I'm not sure how far it was but we were hiking for probably 2 hours. We had some amazing views & relaxed the rest of the afternoon in the sand & sun.

After 2 years Emma & Justin have graduated from Mommy preschool! They have learned lots & most importantly had lots of fun! They are excited for school next fall & I think a big part of that is because of how positive preschool is. I'm grateful for the other Moms for letting me be a part of this.
My little sous chef!
We went to the Loyalty Days festival in Ilwaco one weekend. It celebrated those serving in the military, specifically our Coast Guard. It started off with a fun parade. Next was the tradition of riding boats out to the mouth of the ocean to say a prayer together over those who had passed away in the line of duty that past year. The participating boats mark themselves with flags so those who want to participate know which boats they can board. There was something really special about praying all together with people in the community. We pray all the time as a family & with church friends but never in a setting like this. All the boats formed a circle & then someone on a different boat said the prayer over a mega phone. Then we all threw flowers onto one spot that was the "grave". It made me tear up. Very special. How grateful I am for this country & for those who are faithful & good & believe in God.
We found a raccoon in the yard!
Hyrum had to write a color poem at school. I'm constantly impressed by this kids creativity!
Digging in the dirt
Baseball season has been in full swing! The boys both have improved a ton from last year & are having lots of fun. My favorite is watching them hit the ball. I'm constantly amazed at how my kids can entertain themselves with nothing but some grass, rocks & their imaginations. The younger guys have had hardly any complaints sitting through 2-3 games a week!
The father/son camp out for the stake was in May. Emma & I took advantage of the boys being out of the house to get some tickets to see the ballet 'Cinderella' in Astoria. We went with some of her good buds. Justy ended up getting sick throwing up the morning of the camp out so I hired a babysitter to come sit with him while Emma & I went out. We felt so bad he couldn't go camping so Jeremy took him backyard camping the following weekend just the two of them.
We had our first fire pit fire in the backyard & wondered why it had taken us a month to get around to doing it! We've had a couple more since then.
We spent a Saturday in Portland with my parents & Brigg/Havalah/kids. They took us to OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science & Technology). We have been meaning to go but haven't yet. There was hardly anyone there & the kids had a blast spreading out throughout the whole museum exploring. Good thing we had 6 adults! We went back to their house for dinner & jumping on the good old trampoline. We really need to get one of those.
Justy brought this home from Primary the other day. It reads 'Yoo haf too pra' = "You have to pray" I was so excited when I was able to figure it out ;)
Went on several field trips this spring. Here are some pictures of our trip to Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach. Best part of the day? Finding star fish again!!! They are coming back!
First official basement club house formed
Hyrum has shown a lot of interest in tennis & learning the game. We have played almost everyday for a little while for the past 3 weeks!
One night Dallen wasn't sleeping well so I plopped him in bed with me (Jeremy was camping out in the backyard with Justin for a date). He woke me up with a swift kick to the face at 5:30am!
I love this baby of mine - who really isn't a baby anymore :(
