Emma & Justin

Awwww...we have TWO babies at home!!!!
Here we are awaiting the arrival of PIT

Proud Parents
Proud brothers (although I think Hunter prefers them at a distance and not crying)
Sweet babies!

So here's the story & I'll try to keep it short & sweet.

We arrived at the hospital Sunday night at 7pm and got all checked in. Turns out I was already dilated to a 4cm & having random contractions so they decided to give me just a small amount of Pitocin over a few hours. Then they took me off of it to see if my body would pick up on it's own but it didn't so after a few hours of that they gave me a good strong dose of PIT and within 20 minutes the contractions were terrible. So after a few of those I got my epidural around 6:30am which was AMAZING! Thank you whoever you were, my anesthesiologist! I didn't feel a thing and could finally get a couple hours of sleep. They checked me again around 9:45ish and I was 10cm and ready to rock & roll.

Because I was "high risk" I had to deliver in the Operating Room just in case. Everyone I talked to knew how much I wanted a natural (vaginal) birth & how much I wanted to avoid a c-section. There were about 10 other people in the room besides Jeremy & I, including a seasoned high risk labor & delivery doctor. So I started pushing at 10:22am and Emma Louise Shakespear was born at 10:27 at a whopping 7 lb 2 oz. Baby B's heartbeat plummeted in the 40's & stayed there, I pushed twice and they said I had one more push or they would have to do a c-section. I was pretty terrified so I pushed again and still nothing and they gave me one extra chance & Justin Taylor Shakespear was born at 10:31am at 6 lb 15 oz!!!!! He had a little help from a friendly vacuum. So they are 4 minutes a part.

We were able to go home the day after delivery & we are doing great. Really! They are sweet, sweet babies & sleep well & are doing their best at nursing. Today I even started nursing them at the same time which is going to give me some extra nap time I hope :) My Mom is here for another few weeks and Jeremy took the whole week off of school.

I just wanted to thank everyone for praying for us to have big, healthy babies & to have a natural birth. Those were the two things I was especially nervous about & we feel so blessed to have things work out the way they did.

More pictures to come soon (hopefully)

*********Our happy winners**********

Lyndsi Rivera guessed my tummy circumference right on the head at 45 inches!
(Before I measured I was right with all of you who guessed 55 inches and above)

Jon & Becky Tolman are our ecstatic winners by guessing a grand total of 14 lb 2 oz of total baby weight (our baby weight was 14 lb 1 oz)

Thanks to all for playing the game & we will get a sweet bag of chocolates your ways ASAP! (Lyndsi, email me your address!)

Sweet babies! Congratulations! I'm so proud of you for having big, healthy babies naturally! Cael was only 6lbs 2 oz and I had to have a C-section, so I'm totally amazed at you! Good work! I am happy to be the winner! You don't really have to send me chocolates though, just take care of your 4 beautiful children and sleep when you can. Love you all!

I'm so happy that you could deliver them vaginally. They are BEAUTIFUL and I think each of you got a mini-me. Emma looks like Megan and Justin looks like Jeremy. :) At least so far. I wish I lived closer so I could take some newborn pics for you! :) Twins are so fun to photograph. Congratulations you guys. Megan you are a hero. That was some hard work you did in that delivery. I'm so glad that they are a good size, and that everyone is healthy and happy. You have one more kid than me now! I better catch up! :) hahaha We love you guys! Take care and hopefully you are getting some sleep and recover quickly!! :)

Congratulations!! I am SO happy that it all went how you wanted, it sounded like a great delivery. Collin looked at the pictures with me, and his first comment was "now they have more kids!!" He is having issues with not having the most kids around here. Too bad it is not going to change. :) Let us know when you need anything!

Wow!! They are beautiful and perfect in every way - and I'm glad you got what you wished for!! I can't believe they were so big! So happy for you - can't wait to learn more of their personalities!!

I don't think people should be allowed to use the word "vaginally" in their comments. It makes me uncomfortable. However, I am glad that Justin made it out of your sacred area with a little assistance. Well done. We'll have to make a little road trip so our daughters can maul them.

MEG!!! We are so happy for you and Jeremy and of course for Hyrum and Hunter Bug. I knew they would be fine because the Anne and Andrew have been praying for them. Their prayers are always so much stronger. I love their names and I love that Justin is trying to eat Emma's hand. I can already see that all your boys will look like brothers...wonder who Emma will look like?

I agree with Jon and Becky's comment :) Love you and can't wait to see those little ones in person in a few weeks!

Yeah!!! I hope your first night home wasn't a nightmare like ours was. I am glad you are nursing them at the same time. I hope it works out well for you. As long as I had a bunch of pillows around me it was great. I even could do my makeup while I was nursing them! I am SO glad you have a girl!!! Justin and Emma look fantastic! Thanks for letting me bug you at the hospital. I am so excited for you guys!!! And that is GREAT that your mom is there for a few more weeks. With two kids "under your belt" you'll do great with two more. I am so glad I did NOT have twins first. I would have been going crazy! CONGRATS again!!!

They are gorgeous! I LOVE seeing those sweet babies next to each other... precious memories! Good luck with your amazing adventure ahead. It goes way way too fast (some days that is a good thing HaHaHa). I still can't believe that my twins are 5 ALREADY! Just LOVE every minute of it (even the chaotic ones). Let us know where you guys are going to end up next year.
