Birthday Boy!!!

He is 5 & I'm still in shock. 5 just seems so old, almost too old. I remember when he was so round & chubby. His face was as wide as it was long, a perfect circle. But now he's so long & lean & looks so old! Hard to believe.

Hyrum turned 5 on Wednesday but we didn't tell him & instead today was his birthday so we could celebrate with Daddy at home. Jeremy & I had fun decorating his room while he was asleep last night. Tee hee hee & he was quite surprised this morning, I think, to find balloons hanging over his head & a giant 5 on his wall.

Here he is with his requested cobra snake cake complete with poisonous venom seeping out of his fangs, yikes. He's the one that really wanted the venom there.

His birthday present from us was a bike!!! We have been talking about getting him a bike for a year now. His trike has been way too small for a year. Now Hunter has inherited it. We just happened to have a 70 degree day today, perfect for pedaling!

*He is developing quite a great sense of humor

*Loves to be sneaky & trick us or tease us-he gets quite a kick out of it

*Is still very helpful around the house & playing with his brothers & sister

*Loves to draw so much! It surprises me really how much he loves it

*He loves to learn & as much as I'm in denial about it I think he is really ready for school coming up. He has a really long attention span for his age.

*Loves to watch movies, especially 'Land Before Time' (nope, still no Star Wars yet)

*Curiouser & curiouser

*He likes to say a number & asks me if it's a real number. Is ten twenty two forty a real number Mommy? I like how he says the number 50 (five deee, five dee one, five dee two etc.)

*He loves treats, oh boy this kid has a dozen sugar teeth. I guess it's a good thing his Dad's a dentist. Free fillings?

*He's pretty cautious & shy but the older he gets the more daring he is to get out of his comfort zone a bit & try new things & make new friends. It's so fun to watch him grow!!!

I love how very cautious Hyrum is! It's just so him. He was pretty nervous but very excited too. We could already see him improving quite a bit just today. Hoping for more warm, sunny days to practice!
