Days 10-15

I am the world's worst picture taker! I meant to document with pictures every night but I missed most of them the past few days.
Day 10

This was a fun day, starting out with our ward Christmas party in the morning with breakfast. Then we checked out a new sporting store the boys have been wanting to go to & found a few stocking stuffers. But not these baseball helmets. They wouldn't fit in our stockings & I don't think our family is quite ready for a baseball team yet but maybe someday.

That afternoon the boys decorated their cardboard boxes as trains to prepare for our Polar Express night. We read the book, watched the movie while drinking hot cocoa in our pj's. Everyone liked the movie although Justin wouldn't leave my lap & kept saying 'scary'.

I forgot how entertaining & versatile cardboard boxes really are. They are still playing with them. Em & Justin like to race them up & down our hallway.

Day 11

Sunday we made about 6 dozen sugar cookies & frosted/decorated them. Whew!

Day 12

Monday we went around to 9 families & delivered them. It took almost 2 hours & we left the little two in the car each time & they did NOT like that one bit & we could hear them crying as we were at the doors. I can't wait for the kids to be old enough to go elfing!

Day 13

I think this was Jeremy's favorite night so far. We all went through the kids rooms & picked a big cardboard box full of toys & books to give away! We hope other people will enjoy them but we're happy to have fewer things to pick up every night :)

Day 14

The two older boys each picked one friend & then we went to Target & chose something for them that they thought they would like/need for Christmas.

Day 15

Tonight we made gingerbread houses. I like making the frosting, using graham crackers etc. but when we went grocery shopping this morning I saw a 4 dollar kit at Walmart with everything included & my lazy self just couldn't pass up such a simple, cheap deal, even though I think gingerbread anything is gross. So we decorated it & about 1 hour afterwards the boys wanted to eat it. Ewww!

I forgot to put the gate back up into the kitchen after dinner. Later I realized Justin wasn't with me picking up toys. Smart boy, eh? I had to laugh at him-he had his mouth stuffed FULL! After he swallowed his bite he smiled & said 'Treat...yummy!'

That is so funny that Justin got away and starting having a night-time snack! What a cute picture of your kids in the helmets! And I love the toy and book idea. Some of my friends have done it before and it's such a great thing to do right before Christmas. I will be making gingerbread houses on Saturday, well, just the gingerbread. Hope it goes smooth! Cute house that you found!!!

Such fun activities. Love the helmets, especially Emma's expression, "this is fun, right?". I think cardboard boxes are the greatest invention for kids that there is- lets their imagination run wild. You can see Justin's cheeks are crammed full!!

I love your family Megan! You and Jeremy are really good parents. You are good teachers and examples. It shows because you have really good kids. And smart too! I am so impressed with Hyrum and Hunter's drawings on the wrapping paper and that Hunter can write his name.
